Dorothy Pitman Hughes, Pioneer Feminist, dies at age 84
Dorothy Pitman Hughes was a second-wave feminist, child welfare advocate, and lifelong community activist who toured the country speaking with Gloria Steinem in the 1970s. She was co-founder of Ms. Magazine and early Black Feminist.

Theresa Kachindamoto is paramount chief of the Dedza district in Malawi who has fought to abolish child marriage, annulled over 1000 marriages, and increased the age of consent to 18.
