Israeli Women Gather in Protest Dressed as Handmaids

Over 100 women gathered in the streets of Tel Aviv in protest dressed in red robes with white bonnet head coverings, made to resemble the women in The Handmaid's Tales. Many women in Israel fear the rise of right-wing authoritarianism in their country and a return to religious conservatism, where they would inevitably see their legal and social liberties restricted.

How to Become a Wiki Editor

Wikipedia is one of the most frequently used information resources on the planet. And most wikipedia articles are written and edited by men. This gives the world's shared encyclopedia a misogynistic slant. But contributing to wikipedia and making edits is way easier than most people think. Women can help add their voices, perspective, and even flag articles guilty of outright bias. And this extends to all wikis, including the amazing new Feminist Wiki!

FEATURED ESSAY

Is it Time for a 4B Movement in the West?

The separatist feminist movement to emerge out of South Korea has a list of edicts: no dating men, no having sex with men, no marrying men, and no having children with men. This sounds extreme to most, especially to westerners used to watered-down liberal feminism. But with male violence against women on the rise everywhere, is it time for 4B to become a global movement?

FEMINIST LITERATURE

Women of the Upper Class

A claim made by radical feminism that is often controversial is that all women - regardless of race or income - suffer under patriarchy. In a rare series of interviews, Susan Ostrander (academic and Professor Emeritus of Sociology) reveals that wealthy women, even those born into powerful families with large inheritances, live in gilded cages with shockingly little agency. Their lives are organized around the high expectations of their famlies to continue their prestigious bloodlines and act as a traditional wives to their powerful husbands.
